Feri's Sausages is a proud partner of the local sheep farm Herrakunnan Lammas Oy (www.herrakunnan.fi) in Pertteli and ethical pig farm Ollikkalan sikatila, Vihti. Part of the pork and all the beef is acquired by industrial meat suppliers of Finland.
Feri's Sausages produces gluten free, sugar free sausages by using 100% Finnish meat, including local pig and sheep farm. The sausages are vacuum packed. Our products contain no preservatives (but mineral salt) therefore their shelf life is 5 days in the fridge. You can freeze them.
A few more days of 2016 left and we're preparing something really special: Feri's Truffle Sausage and Truffle Honey Sausage with Chili.
By using black truffle infused olive oil of Baltic Truffles we give that extra flavour that makes our sausage unmistakably delicious.

I know I know, the four weeks of Advent and the row of Pikkujoulu parties is not even close. Yet, it's comforting to name the sausage pack Pikkujoulu, as a sign that the holiday season is so near we can almost grab it!

October. We knew it's coming but somehow it took us off guard. Again. Yesterday, it feels, it was still summer. And now it's getting dark too early and the car feels like an ice box in the morning.
October is the door wide open to winter we're all preparing for since August is over. Some of us travels to a sunny place to feel the kiss of the Sun for one last time, but every journey ends one day, and the big North awaits with it's almost otherworldly darkness and cold.
October. The euphoria of the rich harvest is fading, the summer birds are gone, too. The berries, apples are in the freezer and jars, the mushrooms too. We had all the good vegetables September could offer - many more times than we can count. We were all grateful for one more sunny day, happy for another decent Sunday afternoon. And here we are. October is finally here and we want something comforting, something rich. Something warm.
For us at Feri's sausages at this time of the year aren't for the grill. We put good meaty and well-spiced paprika sausages and chorizos in the oven or on the pan and use them sliced in thick soups of bean or lentils, we also cook pieces of fried bratwursts with cabbage or sauerkraut.
We use chunks of fried chicken sausages, salsiccia or merguez to make a quick pasta topping with or without tomato sauce, or use them with oven-baked potatoes and onions. On lazy mornings we use yesterday's leftover sausages to spice up an omelette. The possibilities are nearly endless.

One year ago on this day our new business has started to operate in its current location at Pursimiehenkatu 2 in downtown Helsinki. Before that, for a few months we had rented a small but superbly equipped kitchen at Villa Svalvik in Laajasalo, a villa with breathtaking view to the sea. Big thanks to them for the cooperation!
We owe big thanks to Koala Constructions Oy for the swift and quality work turning the dusty rubbles we found at the Pursimiehenkatu location into a meat processing facility and art gallery. A cozy venue for quality sausage making and events. We are happy with the place, guys! :)
When our baby was very young we counted each week of her life. We even received postcards from grandparents when she turned 3 months old. Now, a couple of years later, we no longer counting the weeks, only birthdays.
Similar sentiments are held for Feri's Sausages, our other "baby" that we've nurtured throughout the year in the hope that by the end of 1st year it'll start standing on its own feet and even walk without support. Now let us provide you a cost-free delivery solution through which we find a way to get near the customers all around Uusimaa. It's called REKO and it's "spinoff" Farmarin Markkinat (Farmer's Market).
A REKO SITE IS NOT A MARKET, ONLY A PICKUP and PAYMENT POINT!
REKO (Swedish "rejäl konsumtion" or fair consumption) provides a direct sales channel between local producers and customers through locally established Facebook groups.

Here's how it works
See the list at the bottom of this post, pick the one that's closest to your home and find the nearest event in Facebook. There you'll find our (and many other producers') advertisement, under which you can place an order.
The really easy way to order and pay for Feri's sausages is using the web shop. Make sure you select your chosen REKO site for shipment and also, please don't forget to leave a note under our advertisement on the respective Facebook REKO event!
You can pick up and pay for the products directly from the producer. REKO events usually happen every second week, the same day, same time and same place. Except, some REKOs happen each week.
Each REKO event lasts 30 minutes, so being on time is essential.
Before ordering online, always make sure if Feri's actually attends at your REKO. We do skip some places every now and then.
Payment is easiest when you shop in our webshop (netbank, PayPal), but we accept cash as well at the REKO site.

Balkan Grill sausage (Hot and Mild) are based on the skinless sausages known as kebab, ćevapčići, mititei and so on. We use original recipes (one that we liked the most among the thousand versions, to be honest), use beef, lamb and pork and use fresh parsley and mint.
- Note: by using the skewers grilling our thin raw sausages is made super easy. We'll add skewers to our hot Balkan grill sausages. See the bucket grill photos below, taken somewhere between Orimattila and Hollola in a truck parking. Super easy, certainly.
